Our Story
Winters Cheese Co. is steeped in rich agricultural heritage. Cheesemaker Daniel Turkovich grew up helping his father every summer on the family farm. He left for college at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo to study winemaking. However, through hands on experience working at the Cal Poly Creamery, Daniel discovered his passion was not making wine, but making artisan cheese. Upon graduation, Daniel eagerly returned to his hometown of Winters, CA to establish a cheese company and continue a family tradition of making fine agricultural products.
